Returning to Bridge
Returning to Bridge

Perhaps you learnt to play Bridge some years ago and would now like to play more regularly at a club or with friends.

If you have played a little Bridge informally, the best approach may be to start from the beginning and join a beginner's course.

If, however, you are a little more experienced, our Year 2 Bridge for All course may be more suitable for you.  The course normally starts in the autumn. People with relevant experience may be able to join the course in January.

If you have played Duplicate Bridge in the past and want to become familiar with changes that have taken place (such as electronic scoring at the table with Bridgemates), it may be sensible to come to a few of our Learn and Play sessions which are held on Monday evenings (7.15 pm – 9.45 pm) and on Thursday mornings (10.00 am – 12.00 pm). These sessions are hosted so you do not need to come with a partner.

Click for full details of all the sessions that are run at the club.

Bridge for All - Year 2

The Year 2 of the EBU’s Bridge for All course runs each year in three terms of 10 weeks each starting in September/October. This course is open to those who have completed Year 1 of the Bridge for All course and to those with the equivalent knowledge of Bridge.  This course is designated as Next Step.

Please contact education@oxfordbridgeclub.com for further details if you are not one of our existing students.

Guidance on course levels

We try to be specific about which events are suitable for each individual by suggesting the level at which material is aimed. We use associated colour coding to help guide choice.

Each course is designed to meet the needs of people at varying stages in their Bridge playing career.  Whilst every individual is different you may find it useful to review the stages that we are using to characterise courses.
