We are running a Pro-Am pairs session at the club on the evening of Wednesday 21st October at 7.15pm. This replaces the usual Wednesday evening session. For those who are unfamiliar with this type of event, this is where we pair a player with a higher NGS (a pro) with a player with a lower NGS (an am). We plan to be flexible when it comes to categorising players as pros or ams so that we can include as many of those who want to play as possible. 

We will play 20 boards to allow time at the end of the session to discuss the hands.

This event is classified as a mentored session, which means it will not count towards your NGS ranking, although Masterpoints will be awarded as usual. 

The results will be handicapped, based on NGS ranking, with a prize of two free games on Wednesday evenings for the top two pairs. Unhandicapped results will be uploaded to Pianola and the EBU.

Table money is £4 for pros and ams alike (£2 for concessions), payable by card when you arrive at the club.

This entry form is for both pros and ams, so if you would like to play, please add your name to the list. We normally receive more entries from ams than pros: we will try to find partners for as many people as possible, but please be warned that we may have to disappoint some of you.

When you put your entry in please let us know whether or not you prefer to play ACOL or 5-card majors, or don't mind which system you play. We will choose your partner partly based on the system you prefer to play, and also based on NGS rankings.

Please note that this event is aimed at those who play in our regular duplicate sessions; it is not suitable for those who are still learning to play bridge (ie Bridge for All members), or those who only play in Supervised Play sessions.

Club members have priority - non-members may play if we have spare spaces.  

We are providing basic standard system cards for ACOL and 5-card majors. The ams can choose which one they wish to play.  You may make minor changes to your chosen card if you wish, by agreement with your partner, but we prefer that you make as few changes as possible to make discussion of the hands easier afterwards. Printed copies of these cards will be available at the start of the session.
