Travel Information
Travelling to Oxford Bridge Club

The Clubhouse is located at 147 Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 7AN.
Telephone: 01865 554414

By Bicycle

Cycle parking is available at the club.  Cycles should be left around the back of the club (access via the side gate).

By Bus

The club is well served by public transport with buses running along the two arterial roads to the north of the city centre - Banbury Road and Woodstock Road. Look here for details of all bus and coach services in Oxford. Note that the buses that run along Banbury Road are operated by Stagecoach. Oxford Bus Company serves Woodstock Road (true as of July 2026).

The most convenient stop for the club is Lathbury Road stop on Banbury Road (2 minutes walk from the club). Buses run here from Oxford City centre every few minutes during the day. Less frequent in the evening. Note that some services - in particular the Park and Ride services don't stop at Lathbury Road, but stop at Summertown shops  (6 minutes walk from the club).

By Train

There are two train stations in Oxford, both about 2 miles from the club premises.

On arrival at Oxford Station make your way onto the forecourt and take Bus 14 (towards Headington) and get off at the Lathbury Road stop on the Banbury Road.  Journey takes approximately 12 minutes (traffic permitting) and then 2 minutes walk brings you to the club.  Alternatively, walk 15 minutes into the centre of Oxford to catch a bus on route 2/2A and get off at the Lathbury Road stop on the Banbury Road.

Oxford Parkway Station is adjacent to the Water Eaton Park and Ride. The Park & Ride bus runs along the Banbury Road. Get off at the Summertown shops stop - it is a 6-minute walk to the club.

By Car

Car users coming to the City of Oxford are encouraged to use one of the Park and Ride facilities on the edges of the city. The closest to the club is Water Eaton P&R (OX2 8HA). From there take the Park and Ride bus (No. 500) to the Summertown stop on the BanburyRoad - the club is 6 minutes walk from there. The next closest to the club is Peartree P&R (OX2 8JD). From there take the Park and Ride bus (No. 300) to the South Parade stop on the Woodstock Road - the club is 12 minutes walk from there. The Redbridge P&R (OX1 4XG) is also convenient, as the 300 bus from there also takes you to the South Parade stop on the Woodstock Road - again the club is 12 minutes walk from there.

Club members are encouraged to car share where possible. If you are planning to come by car try to find someone to travel with from your local area.

Parking at the Clubhouse is limited to the space to the left of the front door. Anyone with a reason to park in this space must be pre-approved and must lodge details of their car insurance policy with the Secretary.

Please note that space for parking is severely limited, so restrictions must apply. Priority for parking is as follows:

1. Genuinely disabled players, with severely limited mobility. Note - possession of a disabled badge does not necessarily guarantee priority.

2. Director and scorer for the current session.

The two spaces on the right of the forecourt (marked 147A and 147B) are strictly reserved for the occupants of the flats above the club. Members are not permitted under any circumstances to park in these spaces or in such a way that these spaces may not be accessed by the flat occupants. If any player contravenes this regulation, the matter will be automatically referred to the Conduct Committee.

There are free 2- and 3-hour parking spaces on the side roads (Lathbury Road, Moreton Road and Bellbroughton Road) near to the club on weekdays and Saturdays during the day (before 4.30 pm). There are no limitations on Sundays and after 4.30pm. There are car parks nearby at the Summertown shops and Ferry Leisure Centre. These charge £7.20 for 3 to 4 hours, and £16.20 for 4 hours or more. (Prices as at July 2026)
