Obituary Mike Allen

 

 

NEBA is saddened to report the death of Mike Allan, a long-standing and highly respected figure in North East bridge.

Active from the late 1960s, Mike was closely associated with Darlington Bridge Club and was renowned for his meticulous organisation and efficiency,
long before the introduction of computerised scoring.
A strong player, he represented the North East for many years and enjoyed considerable success in regional and national competitions.

Mike was also among the early adopters of computer scoring and played an important role in raising organisational standards across the region.
His contribution to North East bridge, both at the table and behind the scenes, was significant and lasting.

He will be remembered with great respect.
