Christmas Potluck
& Social Game
Friday, December 15, 2023
Kelowna Senior Citizens' Society, 1353 Richter St, Kelowna
Lunch @11:15am & Game @12:30
This is a potluck event with a twist! Our board members will be bringing an array of scrumptious desserts.
As for our club members, we ask each pair to bring anything other than dessert.
It's a chance to showcase your culinary creativity, whether it's a favourite holiday dish or something unique and delicious.
Please bear in mind that there is no oven and only one microwave. If your dish is 'Gluten Free', please label it as such.
** Festive Fun and Inclusive Games ** Door Prizes **
To add an extra dose of holiday cheer, we'll have a variety of prizes and some silly game boards to make the day more enjoyable and
inclusive for all LPBC members. No need to worry about skill levels, this is all about having fun and embracing the spirit of the season.
While RSVP is not required, it would be helpful if you could RSVP to wjwebb54@icloud.com so we have an approximate count of attendees.
Remember also that if you can rideshare, that would be great as parking will be at a premium.

New ACBL Convention Card |
ACBL released a new convention card in 2022, that is a more relevant convention card reflecting todays game. Bridge has evolved with various changes including new conventions and alert procedures.
While the new card looks familiar, here are some examples of the changes:
- seldom used conventions were removed and commonly used conventions were added
- recent changes in alerts and announcements are reflected
- the 1 club and 1 diamond open bid sections were expanded, providing more room to address different minor suit openings
- the right side of the convention card was reorganized with bids showing in ascending order
Articles explaining the changes and the proper way to complete the card will appear in the ACBL Bulletin starting with the March 2022 issue. Additional information will be posted to the ACBL website and to other bridge related forums.
The new card can be downloaded here: New Convention Card 2022
During the transition period either card will be acceptable. A member update will be provided when ACBL formally launches the new card.
