The 9 High Pairs was played on 28th October 2023 at The Fulbourn Centre, 20 pairs competed in the event with Lynn Bouchier and Dennis Collins coming out on top with a score of 64.34%, so our congratulations go to them. A link to the results can be found HERE

22 pairs contested the County Blue Pointed Swiss Pairs held at Fulbourn Centre on Sunday 28 April. In a closely fought contest the winners were Nadia Stelmashenko and Victor Milman (pictured) on 86 VP’s, narrowly beating Kevin Clark and Graham Johnston on 84 VP’s with Rosanne Mattick and Iain Watson third. Paul Barden & Claire Robinson (pictured) won the Guardian Trophy for the Championship Pairs of the Easter Festival in London after a very close-run event in which top place changed many times over the two days. Click HERE for results.

The Cambs and Hunts team finished third in the final of the Tollemache Cup which was played over the weekend of 17th - 18th February 2024.

On Sunday January 14^th, Cambs and Hunts played Northants in the Eastern Counties League.  Congratulations to the A team who won 15-5 and to the B team who won 12-8.  Commiserations to the C team who lost 3-17. Full results can be found HERE The current league standings can be found HERE.

Cambs and Hunts played their latest league match against Essex in the Eastern Counties League on October 1st.
Congratulations to the A team, who won 14-6.
The result for the B team was 5-15, and for the C team 7-13.

Congratulations to Cambs and Hunts member Claire Robinson who was part of the winning team in the Swiss Pairs at the EBU Northern Midweek congress. Results.

The Crockfords Cup and Plate final took place over the weekend of 23rd and 24th September 2023. The Crockfords Cup is England's premier teams championship, with a knockout qualification and an eight-team final.

Cambs and Hunts members in the final of the cup were Jon Cooke, Paul Barden & Julian Wightwick with Ian Pagan completing the team. Congratulations on reaching the final.

In the Plate the Fegarty Team of Catherine Curtis, Paul Fegarty, Liam Fegarty & Jamie Fegarty finished 2nd, well done to them.

Cambridge Bridge Club held a heat of the National Handicap Pairs on Sunday 10th September at the Fulbourn Centre and the results for the local heat can be found here. 44 players took part in the heat (no pun intended but it was warm) at Fulbourn which is part of a national event played at various venues around the country, the EBU national result are below. Congratulations go to Geoff Burbidge and Gladys Gittins who came out top of the Cambridge heat.

The results for the ECL Match against Hertfordshire are A team lost 8-12; B team lost 5-15; C team won 18-2.  Many congratulations to the C team on an excellent result.

Why not enter a team into the Cambs and Hunts County Teams League. All you need are four players to form a team, so ask you partner and find another pair and form a team. You will play approximately 4-7 games between September and March It’s completely free to play, if you play your matches online.

Games can be played Face to Face (Home team to pay any table money) or on an online platform. (If no agreement can be reached the default will be RealBridge).

Congratulations to John Liebeschuetz and Rod Oakford on winning the prestigious EBU Corwen Trophy on the 4th of June with a score of 59.81% in a strong field.

The Corwen is a national event run by the EBU. 87 pairs representing their county associations competed in four sessions, playing a total of 96 boards over two days. The Cambs and Hunts County Pairs was not run this year. Instead, qualifiers were drawn from the County Swiss Pairs held on the 15th of April.
