Following the success of our online games the club have made a presentation to Macmillan and The Royal British Legion of £650.00 each. We would like to thank all of you who supported our online games to make this possible.
Many of you will be aware that in normal times the club run an Andrew Robson day, the proceeds of which are donated to Macmillan, hence one donation to them.We made the other donation to The Royal British Legion as on of our members celebrated his 100th birthday during lockdown and raised money for them by doing a skydive, see more here, so we wanted to support his efforts.

BRIDGE CLUB member John Phelps has just had his sixth book published. This time, it is a collection of short stories entitled “A Kind Of Magic” … which is the name of the first story. The collection covers a variety of genres, including crime, off-beat romance, sport, fantasy, drama, homelessness and humour … and there is even one with a bridge theme … and they vary in length and pace.

Some of the tales are based on personal experiences, while others are purely imagination , says John, who declines to divulge which is which!

“A Kind Of Magic” can be bought through bookshops, such as Waterstone’s or WH Smith, or directly from the publisher. Further details can be obtained via Google.
