Welcome to the Westchester Contract Bridge Association, part of the ACBL's District 3 and Region 3.

Club Corner

This is where you can read about news and events happening at our local clubs.

The last week in April is Stardust Week! Clubs online and face-to-face can offer 1/4 gold points.

All of Unit 188's Open Clubs are taking part. The Bridge Deck is also participating in the ACBL-wide Charity Game on Wednesday April 24.

--

Heritage Hills is playing Club Championship games May 6 and May 9. Extra points, no extra charge! And the club is holding Charity games to raise money for the Somers Food Pantry at Saint Luke's May 20th and 23rd.

--

The next STaC is scheduled. Compete at your local club against players across the greater NYC area for silver points, during the week from June 3-9.

--

The last STaC that started off the month of April is history. Hartes' Club, the Bridge Deck and Heritage Hills all participated, and a number of Unit 188 players did well. See the full results for the region here.

In the Royal STaC in January, strong performances brought players 1/4 gold, 1/4 red, 1/4 silver and 1/4 black points. Click here for the full results.

Going back to 2023, click here for the Royal STaC results in October and here for full results from the District 3 STaC in June.

--

Heritage Hills has joined The Common Game! This means that all of the Open clubs in Unit 188 are playing under The Common Game umbrella. You can all compare notes!

Visit the Local Club section for links and information about regularly scheduled games.

Spring in Westchester

136 people attended the 2023 Spring in Westchester event at the Beach Point Country Club in Mamaroneck.

In addition to the Swiss Teams competition, Unit 188 held its annual meeting and honored players for their accomplishments in 2022, the top Masterpoint winners in the various categories and Catherine Bean for becoming a Life Master.

See pictures of the award winners here, with Unit 188 President Rick Rosenthal.

The Unit welcomed returning past members Linda Otness and Eileen O'Neill to serve fresh terms on the Board of Directors, as well as newcomer Karen Sloan, who will serve as VP and Tournament chair.

According to the Treasurer's Report, the Unit had some $60,000 in the bank in April 2023, adjusted down to $56,500 after paying the expense for the spring event.

As always, Unit 188 is doing what it can to promote bridge playing in the region, as well as supporting the local clubs.
