This is a teams-of-eight competition for Oxfordshire clubs. We have two teams: our "A" team is in Division 2 and our "B" team in Division 4. Speak to Howard Arnes (A-Team) or Roger Heath-Brown (B-team) if you would like to play for Summertown. In due course fixtures and results, as well as match reports will appear on the link on the lefthand side of this page.
Summertown Bridge Club plays duplicate bridge every Monday in the Maison Française, Norham Road, OX2 6SE. We pride ourselves on our reputation for friendliness, and welcome visitors and prospective new members, including those with relatively little experience of playing duplicate bridge. You can come along either with or without a partner, as our host system means you'll always get a game. We are EBU affiliated, use computer-dealt boards and wireless scoring, and award master points.
There is parking in Maison Française’s own car park and both metered and free parking on the nearby streets.
The club opens at about 7 pm, and players should arrive by 7.15 and be seated by 7.20 for start of play at 7.30.
A splendid effort on 22 July by all you generous people: we raised £900 in aid of Flexicare (more information at http://flexicare.org/.)
Huge thanks to all those involved: Christina (in particular for selling her delicious honey), Moira, Valerie, James and Cliff.
Many congratulations to Sandra & Krys who, with another pair, won the Green Pointed Swiss Teams on 21st July at the Gloucestershire & Herefordshire Congress! 34 teams took part.
The previous day they came 9th out of 66 in the Swiss Pairs - also a very respectable result.
Hugh Simmonds played in the team which won the leading non-expert prize.
