Thursday 22 January Bridge Results 

Congratulations to our visitors Trish and Julia for finishing first in the Strathfield Thursday 22 January Bridge Session. A fantastic effort, especially as they are both relatively new to the game of bridge — well done!

Strathfield Bridge Club meets at:

Canada Bay Club

8 William Street, Five Dock

Sessions: Monday and Thursday - 10:15am 

There is no break for lunch but coffee can be ordered from the downstairs bar before the start of the sessions.

Please be seated ready to play 10 minutes prior to the start of the sessions.

Visitors are most welcome.

 

  2026 Upcoming Competitions and 2026 Winners

Upcoming 2026 Competitions 

Summer Pairs (red point event) Thursday 22nd and 29th January (to be eligible to win the team of pairs both have to be financial members).

2026 State Mixed Pairs Monday 9th 16th and 23rd February.

(Note To be eligible to win the event you have to be a financial member, a team of pairs that includes a non-member will be awarded master points in the usual manner but will not be entitled to win the event or won’t qualify to represent the club in the next stage of the competition). 
 

So please consider joining the club to qualify as winners of the events. Home members ($50) and non-home members ($30) are entitled to a free game in their birthday month, subsidised Christmas lunch and other benefits.

BRIDGE ETIQUETTE – CODE OF CONDUCT 


Strathfield Bridge Club aims to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all players. Members and visitors are reminded to:
 

Be courteous and respectful to your partner, opponents, and the Director.

Keep conversation to a minimum once bidding has commenced and during play.

Accept Director rulings calmly and without argument at the table.

Dummy must select a card only on the instruction of the declarer.

Maintain a steady tempo and avoid mannerisms that may convey information.

Be mindful of time so sessions run smoothly.

Ensure systems are properly disclosed and alerts given when required.

Keep mobile phones switched off or on silent during play.

Serious or repeated breaches may result in disciplinary action.
By playing at Strathfield Bridge Club, all members and visitors agree to follow the Club’s Code of Conduct.

Members Home Club  $15 session. * Concession (Pensioner DVA) $12 per session.

* Concession only applies to Strathfield Bridge Club members.
 

ALL  VISITORS AND MEMBERS OF OTHER BRIDGE CLUBS $16 per session.

Our regular non-member players are invited to join as non home member $30 p.a. to enjoy the many benefits of membership:-

  • Reduced table fee through the year.
  • A subsidised Christmas lunch.
  • A free game in your birthday month.
  • Eligibility to represent Strathfield Bridge Club in State and ABF events eg GNOT, Mixed Pairs, State Pairs etc
  • Have a say in running of the club.
  • a free name badge on initially joining the Club.
