Entry list will be posted on the club notice board approximately 6 weeks beforehand.

  Afternoon Order of Merit

This competition will be based on partnership records over the full calendar year.

To qualify for the competition, a specific partnership will need to have competed in a minimum of 20 SBC afternoon pairs events excluding the Championship Pairs Events. Only events played with 3 tables or more will be included

  Evening Order of Merit

This competition will be based on partnership records over the full calendar year. Only events played with 3 tables or more will be included.

To qualify for the competition, a specific partnership will need to have competed in a minimum of 25 SBC evening pairs events excluding the AGM (unless at least 21 boards are played by all players), Championship Events (listed above), Christmas Party and Swiss pairs events.

Championship events are sponsored by Stourbridge Institute and Social Club and are open only to current members of the Institute who have been members for 6 months or have played in 6 club events (Stourbridge Bridge Club or Stourbridge Institute Bridge Section) during the preceding 6 months. The championship events are:

  Ladies and Mens Championship

The Ladies Championship and the Gentlemens' Championship are Pairs events. The events are usually run on an evening in February.

  Individual Championships

This event will now be a one-off event, open to all members, usually held in February each year, with no prior qualification.

For ease of organisation, an entry list will be posted on the club noticeboard several weeks in advance.

Please note that players entering the event must have renewed their Institute membership to be eligible to play in the final event.

  Mixed Pairs and Flitch Championships

The Mixed Pairs and Flitch Championship is run as a single event in which all pairs must be of both sexes. The winners are the Mixed Pairs Champions while the Flitch is won by the highest ranking married couple, other than the event winners.
