Our penultimate round of NEBA league matches finally resulted in two wins! Our A team made a late burst to sneak an 11-9 win against Durham A (Junior England Internationals and all) whilst our B team beat Hexham 16-4 in a very good performance against strong opponents.

On Friday 16th January Liz and Colin were first just ahead of Steve and Georgia with Peter and Frank in third place.

On Thursday 15th January our Gentle Bridge session threw up some new partnerships who did very well with a number of tricky hands. John and Liz were first with Nicky and Kate in second.

Stannington BC offers three regular games, all operating under EBU rules and awarding master points. On Wednesday evenings we play an online game of about 20 boards on BBO. On Thursday mornings at Stannington Village Hall we have a gentle bridge session of around 15 boards for members and improvers and provide hosts as partners. On Friday evenings we play face to face at the hall too when we hold our main club evening and play 24 boards. We have a monthly special event including friendly competitions, expert talks, cheese and wine evenings and, of course, our legendary Christmas Party!

We provide free refreshments and welcome visitors and players of all abilities to our friendly club.
