The agenda, audited accounts and the events discussion document for our AGM on Friday 18th October at 6.30 can be found under the website tab opposite and read in advance to save printing off multiple copies. A copy of each is on the club noticeboard too.

On Friday 11th October we held the Mens Pairs which Peter and Frank won with Ian and Keith runners up and in the Women's Pairs Marion and Pat were first with Sue and Ann runners up. Congratulations!

And congratulations also go to Jo Lormor on her promotion to National Master.

The 2024/25 calendar for NEBA events has been agreed with the Congress on 1-3 November. League match dates are 13th October, 17th November and 8th December 2024 with the last two matches on 26th January and 2nd March 2025.

Please note that all other NEBA events will start at 1.00 to allow an earlier finish to encourage more entries. Entries cost £10 per person and it is direct entry in advance for all events except for the Chronicle Cup.

Mike Craig's funeral will be held on Thursday 17th October at 3.00 pm at the East Chapel, West Road Crematorium, Newcastle NE5 2JL.

Although Mike was not a member of Stannington, most if not all of us will have played with or against him over the years. Mike was a great help when creating the club last year, providing support and advice on setting up the new website and on helping the scoring too, sending emails and making phone calls to resolve thorny problems. He was a true gentleman.

Our thoughts are with Mike's wife, family and friends.
