Firstly, congratulations to Kevin Goode's team (Rajiv Talathi, Tracy Aherne and Mark Booth) for winning the County Teams Championship on Sunday 26th April. They will be offered the opportunity to represent the county, in the Pachabo Cup, the national competition for county teams of four. Paul Cutler's team (David Moir, Steve Smith and Martin Aherne) finished second.

The next big county event follows hot on the heels of this, and this is the reason for the flux of emails recently, is the County Mixed Pairs. Again, this will be hosted by Newcastle u Lyme Bridge Club. Entry fee will be £20 / pair and there will be cash prizes, dependent on numbers. Start time is 1.45 for 2pm, and this will be a single session event with a break and half-time break for light refreshment. The anticipated finish time will be around 5.15. Full details are on the county website. Entry can be made by emailing me, Tony with player names and EBU numbers. Again, both players must be full members of S&SCBA, usually achieved by being a member of an (EBU) affiliated club in the county. Although an alternative route is direct membership by paying the County subscription of £5. This can be done by those who have no allegiance or those whose primary county allegiance is to another county, please email, Judy Mitchell, regarding this.

County wise, there is then not much on the Agenda until the County AGM on Sunday 6th September. Although I can thoroughly recommend the County Wednesday Pairs game, on BBO at 7pm. If details are required on how to join this game, please feel free to email me.
