Learn to play Bridge
Bridge for All - the scheme

Bridge for All is the complete learn and play programme developed for the English Bridge Union (EBU).   All teaching materials and student notes are included in the course fee however students will be expected to purchase the Bridge for All Coursebook covering the whole year and costing £22.   As a bonus, students are given 12 months membership of the English Bridge Union free of charge and offered free membership of Oxford Bridge Club whilst they are students. The courses are comprehensive and fun.

All of our Bridge for All teachers have been trained to teach the course by the EBU. They are members of the EBU Teachers’ Association (EBTA), which provides all the training needed to be a successful teacher.

Further information can be found on the EBU website

Bridge for All weekly courses for Beginners

Our beginners course runs each year starting in the autumn. The course is based on the English Bridge Union’s ‘Bridge for All’ programme, using the Acol bidding system. It is a carefully structured course that starts out by assuming no previous knowledge of cards.    It is also suitable for anyone who has played a little Bridge with friends and wants to learn more.

Join us for a Taster session and see what the course is like.

Themed Practice hands sessions

What happens?  In these supervised sessions, the time is spent playing a small number of boards (usually 8) that reinforce particular topics related to the beginners course (Bridge for All Year 1).  Advice is available from the supervisor of each session and a commentary on the hands played is available to review. The session is not scored.

When can I play?  Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and Friday mornings from 10.00am until 12.00 - during term time as listed in the calendar.
What are the topics? The specific topics are listed in the calendar entry for each event.

Table money is £5. You do not need to come with a partner. These sessions are open to everyone including non-members and non-students.
