National Handicap Pairs Championship |
Oxford Bridge Club is holding a heat of the National Handicap Pairs Championship on Sunday 10th September, on RealBridge.
Start time is 1pm. We will play 30 boards and expect to finish by about 5.15pm. There will be a short break about half-way through.
Handicaps will be based on the average NGS of the two players in each pair, so all players will need to make sure that their NGS is visible [*see below for more information]. To do well you simply have to play better than expected based on your NGS - anyone can win this event just by having a sufficiently good day!
Blue masterpoints will be awarded to the top third of the field in the national results.
A commentary on the hands will be uploaded to our website after the end of play.
Entry fee is £7 per player.
This event is hosted, so that you can come along and play even if you don't have a partner.
We will only run this event if we have at least 5 full tables booked by 1pm on Saturday 9th September, so if you'd like to play, please book your place in good time. UPDATE: WE NOW HAVE ENOUGH BOOKINGS - THIS EVENT IS DEFINITELY GOING AHEAD.

Making your NGS visible |
If you normally hide your NGS ranking, you must make it visible by Saturday 9th September, and leave it visible until Tuesday. You can do this by logging into your MyEBU account, going to Account (at the top right), My Details, then under Account Settings, change NGS Preference to Public Grade and Partnerships.
You can check that your NGS rank is visible by going to the EBU website, clicking on NGS (at the top right), and then putting your surname into the search box. If your name and NGS rank appears, then it's visible, if it doesn't, then it's not. Any problems please email Liza for help.
