The MTBC Annual General Meeting (2024 AGM) is due to be held at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 13 November 2024, online, over Zoom. DRAFT Minutes of the 2023 AGM, the Agenda for this year's meeting and Nomination forms for Committee Members - together with a list of nominations already received - have been sent by email to Club Members and are also available on the website (see News - Meetings). Details of how to access the Zoom meeting will be emailed nearer the date.

Did you know that you can practice your declarer play on BBO - just log on to BBO, select 'Practice' and then 'Bridge Master' - there are 5 levels, each with several dozen hands and even the answers if you cannot solve the problem - and it's free.

It is a four day course, to be held over two weekends - 8/9 and 22/23 March 2025.

Committee Meetings

Committee Meeting 1 October 2024

Draft minutes are available to members in the Menu under News - Meetings or by clicking HERE.

Main points of the meeting were:-

The Club made a modest loss in 2023/4, mainly due to one-off costs arising from the set up of the new venue at All Saints. It is proposed to leave Table Money at £3.00 per session, but to increase the Annual Subs to £20.00 for 2025.

We are also looking at ways of raising funds to purchase Bridgemates for use at Face to Face venues.

The Club is undertaking further Training/Promotion events later in October. We want to structure the development of new players so that they can take part in normal club duplicate sessions as soon as possible and are considering how we can build on the recent seminars held for existing members, who are looking to improve.

13 November 2024 - 7.00pm - Annual General Meeting - Details and Invitations will be circulated shortly.

The next Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday 20th November 2024.

The Medway Towns Bridge Club is affiliated to the EBU.

We welcome members from

Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood and the surrounding areas.

Venues for Face to Face Bridge

We play Face to Face at the following Venues:-

Monday Evenings - St.Luke's Methodist Church Hall, at the junction of St Williams Way and City Way, Rochester ME1 2BQ

Play starts promptly at 7:30 pm. Please arrive by 7.15.

Thursday Mornings - All Saints Parish Hall, Church Green (at the junction with Murray Road), Frindsbury, ME2 4HE. Play starts promptly at 10.00 am. Please arrive by 9.45.

Club Competitions 2024 Results

Congratulations to Alan Harvey who won the Individual Cup, held on Monday 21 October 2024. Also to Dave Bowen/Nick Larkin and John/Yvonne Slocombe together with Michel Riley/Peter Moulden and Vess Stefanova/Michael Samwell who tied equal first in the Tom Stacey Cup (Seeded Teams Competition) held on Monday 16 September 2024, and to Jeremy Brewer and Don Sandy who won the Club Pairs on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
