THURSDAY BRIDGE EVERY WEEK FROM JUNE 5 2025
After much discussion a decision has been made to run weekly sessions of bridge on Thursdays as well as Tuesdays at the Church of Christ in Castlemaine.
With the winter months upon us it was felt that the time was right to commit to Thursday bridge by playing every Thursday instead of twice a month. Weekly sessions will commence on June 5 2025.
Jan Williams is our organiser for finding a partner for our players as required.
Please call or text Jan on 0428 547 252 if you are looking for a partner...could be just for one week, long term, doesn't matter. Jan will find you someone suitable to play with!
Tuesday weekly bridge will continue as normal.

LATENESS TO FACE TO FACE BRIDGE SESSIONS
A policy regarding lateness was passed by the Maine Bridge Club committee at its meeting of January 14 2025 after one or two late players, fairly regularly, were holding up the start of play for all others.
It was decided that it is the expectation that all members will book for play online, and arrive no later than
1.20pm for a 1.30pm start to assist with setting up for play and as a courtesy to the Director to confirm the play movement.
It was agreed that if these requirements are not met a verbal warning may be made by the Director, and continued
lateness on a third occasion will result in a written warning from the MBCC. Any further occasion may result in further disciplinary action.

NEW MAINE BC PARTNERSHIP ELIGIBILITY RULES
At the November meeting the Maine BC Committee passed a resolution that lifted the restriction on the level of experience that members of a partnership may have. Previously, two experienced players were not allowed to play together in Maine BC sessions. This restriction affected face-to-face bridge on Thursdays, special events (GNOT, Australia Wide Pairs) and online bridge. It did not apply to U3AMaine sessions on Tuesdays. The new rules are now in force.
