As an EBU affiliated club, HCBC undertakes to adhere to the guidance laid out by the EBU relating to governance and conduct of the club. The policies and procedures listed here are some of those the club and its members will expect to observe

Equality, Diversity and inclusion: Heritage Coast Bridge Club (HCBC) is committed to treating its members , visitors and applicants with equity and will operate within the EDI policy outlined by the English Bridge Union here
HCBC is aware of the 4 main types of discrimination, which are :

Direct Discrimination: Less favourable treatment due to a protected characteristic. The protected characteristics are: Age, Disability, Gender Reassignment, Marriage/Civil Partnership, Pregnancy/Maternity, Race, Religion/Belief, Sex or Sexual Orientation.

Indirect Discrimination: Policies or practices that disproportionately disadvantage a protected group.

Association/Perception: Discrimination based on connection to someone with a characteristic, or the mistaken perception of one.

Harassment & Victimisation: Offensive conduct violating dignity, or retaliation for raising complaints.
In case of any issues arising in relation to EDI, concerns should be reported to the committee secretary who will refer to the EDI lead for the club for action if required
