Ely Bridge Club plays Duplicate Bridge and meets on Monday afternoons with a 2 o'clock start at the Beet Club on Lynn Road. On Tuesday evenings it meets with a 7 o'clock start at Ely Bowls Club.
All standards of players are welcome and partners can be provided on the Monday afternoon session if required. If you have not played for some time, or do not feel sufficiently confident to partner a stranger, then there is a supervised session on Monday afternoons that might appeal to you. This is run by a qualified EBU teacher who provides advice while you play in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Play for any of these sessions costs £2 per person and tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. The cost for visitors is £3.
Players are asked to arrive at least ten minutes early both to help set up and let the organisers arrange the way the session is to be played.
New members and visiting pairs will always be welcomed.
The current position of each of these competitions is now available here on Bridgewebs. The buttons are second and third on the menu above left.
The Tiger Trophy totals for the most slams bid and made during the Club Year are calculated on the basis of one point for a small slam and three points for a grand slam.
Anthony Morbey who was a frequent visitor to the Club, and known to many members, died tragically in late 2017.
Alison, his widow, is holding a Charity Chicago Bridge evening on September 18th in aid of The British Heart Foundation at The Old Hall, Stuntney. It promises to be a fun evening in great surroundings and in a worthy cause. Wine, food and prizes are on offer. It's hoped that as many EBC members will join in.
