You do not need to have a partner before attending one of our sessions. We operate a host system so that we can find you a partner when you arrive. This applies to both experienced players and beginners.

 Members will be sad to hear Peter died last Thursday, 5th March, following a short illness.
Peter was a longstanding member who joined the club over twenty years ago and during this time was on the committee for nine years holding the posts of both treasurer and chairman. Latterly Peter was elected President of the club, an office he held for several years.
Peter was the initiator and driving force of introducing the Monday afternoon meetings at the Sugar Beet Club where Ely Bridge Club hold their weekly meetings to this day.
Peter was a very popular member and a well respected and fine bridge player and will be missed by us all.
Peter's funeral will be at March crematorium on Monday 30th March at 2:30 pm with a reception afterwards at the nearby March golf club.

Congratulations to Barry Lowe! The Eastern Regional heat (Cambs, Suffolk, Norfolk, Herts, Beds & Bucks) of the National Pairs took place on Realbridge last weekend and Barry and his partner Sarah Bradley came top with 58.38% (not 53.38% as initially written here). They have qualified for the National Final in April.
From 23rd February to 30th March there will be many new faces passing through the hall. Sue Merrell & David Green will be teaching bridge to complete beginners in the kitchen area beyond the snooker room. These learners are members of the Ely & District U3A and it is hoped that later some of them will join Ely Bridge Club.
