Our annual Swiss Pairs event was held on Sunday 2nd August. We had a full house of 20 tables, with guests from Stratford, Rugby, Leicester and West Midlands bridge clubs.

Competition was fierce, but friendly, with Alan Patel and Becky Penney coming out on top. They are pictured here receiving the trophy from Maggs Pyner.

Sue Yendall and Deborah Cain from Stratford BC won the non-expert prize.

Thanks are due to Maggs, the chief organiser; to Steve Wright, who kindly came over from Leicester to direct the event; to Sue O'Gorman who organised the delicious afternoon tea and to everyone else who helped in one way or another to make this a most succesful and enjoyable afternoon.

A raffle held during the afternoon, raised over £290 for the British Heart Foundation.

No partner at the moment? Come along to a Saturday morning session or a Monday afternoon where there is always a host to ensure that you get a game.

If you are a visitor, please do come along and join in at any of those hosted sessions.

We want to make payments and deductions as easy as possible, allowing us to concentrate on playing bridge. Whether you are playing in person, or online, your payment for the session will be handled electronically. C&NWBC uses BridgeWebs to record participation in games of bridge, which then results in deductions from your C&NWBC account balance.

The preferred method is via electronic advance payment, either an ad hoc bank transfer or a regular standing order to the bridge club account. Alternative methods of payment can be arranged with the Treasurer if necessary.

A single payment account can be used for a couple’s play at the club.
