Wednesday 17th December: Pro-Am Teams 7pm in the club. Come along with your partner and we will match you with team mates.

As the 4th Wednesday of this month is Christmas Eve, we will be holding the Pro-Am Teams for December a week earlier on the 17th December at 7.00pm.  Hope all the regulars AND more will be able to come.
In order to avoid having to ask a Pair to drop out, can we ask that you let Martin Joseph know in advance if you intend to come. Please also ensure that you arrive by 6.50pm.

Sunday 11th January: Hirst Kurbalija Swiss Teams 11am in the club

The Hirst Kurbalija Teams is an annual event in honour of Mike and Filip and this will be the fourth of the competition. Play starts at 11am and is expected to finish at about 6pm.

We will play 7x6 board matches and a light buffet lunch will be served after the first 3 matches.

The entry fee is £80 per team.

There will be cash prizes of £120 for the winning team, £70 for the best non-expert team and £50 for the team that ascends the highest number of places in the last 3 matches.

24th & 25th January 2026:  The WBU Lady Milne trial will be held F2F as a pairs event with a minimum of 4 tables over one weekend at the Club. The trial will be used as the main method to select the teams for the Lady Milne which will be played F2F over the weekend of 17-19th April 2026 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Bridge Courses & Supported Play: Simon, with the help of Sonia, Jon, Stephen and Sooz, has developed a pathway for those new to Bridge starting with a Begin Bridge Course and leading to actual play in Club sessions.

We now have: Begin Bridge Courses, Continuing Bridge Courses and supported Play on Wednesday afternoons

Thursday Evening Bridge Talk & Play: These sessions, held on the 1st Thursday of the month, are taking a break until further notice

Afternoon Bridge: If you are looking for a friendly game and a cup of coffee in the daytime then we hold two sessions each week. Come and join us on Monday afternoons for Social Bridge in the Club (with home made cakes!) starting at 1.30pm and on Thursday afternoons when play starts in the club at 2pm and is suitable for players of all standards.

Supported Play: Resumed on 10th September following the Summer break.

Would you like to improve your bridge with a friendly group of like-minded players? If so you can join our Supported Play Sessions at 1.30pm every Wednesday , cost £5 per person. If you are planning to join us, you can now book a ticket in advance online via the club’s website or pay on the day.

Supported Play sessions of between 16 and 20 boards give you the opportunity to play bridge in a friendly environment where you can ask for help when you are not sure about bidding a particular hand. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes early so we can set-up a movement and get play started promptly.

The Pro-Am Teams are back! The Pro-Am Teams sessions will be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Come along as a pair and you will be matched with appropriate partners.

SCORING SYSTEM

We are using iBEscore, a phone/tablet based scoring app.

To download the app go to Applestore, Googleplay or your Appstore and search for iBEscore.

The interface is clear, colourful and very user friendly. Please download and explore the app.

The HELP section of the app contains details for players on how to enter scores. You can use a smart phone if you wish but most people use the tablets that we provide.
