100 Years Young!! Happy 100th Birthday and Congratulations to Edith Wade, a Monday afternoon regular who enjoyed a birthday party held for her at the Social Bridge session on Monday 6th January. See the pictures above.

Tuesday 7th January: Individuals Competition/Xmas & New Year Party. Congratulations to Bob Drinkall who had the highest score. Thank you to all who brought the excellent snacks and raffle prizes and to those who helped to make this such a fun evening especially to Jane who organised it.

Thursday Evening Bridge Talk & Play: These sessions, held on the 1st Thursday of the month, are taking a break until further notice

Afternoon Bridge: If you are looking for a friendly game and a cup of coffee in the daytime then we hold two sessions each week. Come and join us on Monday afternoons for Social Bridge in the Club (with home made cakes!) starting at 1.30pm and on Thursday afternoons when play starts in the club at 2pm and is suitable for players of all standards.

Would you like to improve your bridge with a friendly group of like-minded players? If so you can join our Supported Play Sessions at 1.30pm every Wednesday , cost £5 per person. If you are planning to join us, you can now book a ticket in advance online via the club’s website or pay on the day.

Supported Play sessions of between 16 and 20 boards give you the opportunity to play bridge in a friendly environment where you can ask for help when you are not sure about bidding a particular hand. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes early so we can set-up a movement and get play started promptly.

There will be NO supported play on the afternoon of Wednesday December 18th .... so the last supported play session in 2024 will be on December 11th.

Continuing Bridge 10 Week Course will be held on Wednesdays from 10am to 12.30pm in the club and starts with a free taster session on 22nd January and the actual course starting on the 29th. It does not matter if you have not been on a Begin Bridge Course previously. Courses will continue to be held at least twice a year with the aim of providing a continuous flow of beginners and new members. There is a Bridge Beginners' Lessons flyer (Click HERE) and we hope that you will arrange for them to be placed in your golf clubs, gyms and nearby shops to help to generate interest. Laminated copies can be obtained from the Bridge Office.

The Pro-Am Teams are back! The Pro-Am Teams sessions will be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Come along as a pair and you will be matched with appropriate partners.

NEW SCORING SYSTEM

We are now using iBEscore, a phone/tablet based scoring app.

To download the app go to Applestore, Googleplay or your Appstore and search for iBEscore.

The interface is clear, colourful and very user friendly. Please download and explore the app.

The HELP section of the app contains details for players on how to enter scores. You can use a smart phone if you wish but most people use the tablets that we provide.
