Welcome to the West Wales Area web site
Perry/Spickett/President's Cup 2024

This year it's the turn of the West Wales Bridge Association to host the event, which will be held at The Halliwell Centre, Carmarthen, on the weekend of 13th-14th July.

Teams of six from each area will be competing against each other in each event.  Area associations will be subsidising their players.

Applications are invited from established pairs from the Western Area who would like to form part of our team, by 8th March please

The committee will be picking the teams at their next meeting, which is on 15th March;  the Perry is open and the Spickett is for ladies only, whilst the President's Cup is aimed at players new to competitive bridge.

Any West Wales pairs interested in being considered for one of these events should

email Peter Milewski at
by Friday 8th March

2023 WBU Champion of Champions

The winners were Tim Dean & Peter Milewski from Pembroke (pictured left), followed by Tony Haworth & Janet Richards from Porthcawl.
Well done!!
Ossie Evans Cup 2024

Congratulations to Adrian Trickey & Mrunalini Dewan, winners of the WWBA Mixed Pairs competition held at Llanarthne.  Adrian & Nalini were followed by Vida Halford & Glyn Williams, with Tim dean & Pam Evans in 3rd place.  An enjoyable days bridge was had by all.  Many thanks to our ATO, Dave Nicklin, for organising and directing.

Virtual "Porthcawl" Congress 2023

Congratulations to Stefan Lindfors & Ian Walsh, winners of the Red Dragon Championship Pairs for the second year running!  It was a close competition this year with Margaret Lane & Lee Collier hot on their heels in 2nd place and Fu Cheung & Viking Yuen 3rd.

Sadly this was the only event we were actually able to run; like last year the Swiss Teams event planned for the Saturday attracted insufficient entries and had to be cancelled sad

Many thanks to Sarah and her team at IBEx for organising and running the event for us once more.

Hopefully next year we will be able to return to the traditional full weekend of Face to Face bridge -

Watch this space!

2023 Vince Bevan Pairs

Congratulations to Gareth Jones & Lee Collier eventual winners of the 2023 Vince Bevan Pairs trophy, with Tim Dean & Peter Milewski closely following in 2nd place.  Tim & Peter had been in the lead until the last round....hard luck guys!

Many thanks to Dave Nicklin for organising and directing an enjoyable day's bridge.
