What's Occurring

Air Conditioning: The air conditioning in the hall may be in operation during hot weather. Although this will be welcomed by many, some people may find it uncomfortable so please be aware of this and dress accordingly. 

 

 

Sarah Amos: At the WBU 'Bridgeisteddfod' on Sunday on behalf of the members of the club we presented Sarah with a signed card and a £290 John Lewis voucher. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations.

Wednesday 26th August: Pro-Am Teams at 7pm in the club. Come along with your partner and we will match you with team mates. In order to avoid having to ask a Pair to drop out please, as usual, let Martin know in advance if you intend to come. Please also try to ensure that you arrive by 6.50pm.

Tuesday 2nd June – Isabel Evans Summer Ladder Started. The Winner will be the person with the highest average of their best 6 scores from playing on Tuesday Evenings, Wednesday Evenings F2F and Thursday Afternoons. To see the table click on 'Competitions' on the blue menu at the top left of the screen and then on 'Summer Ladder 26'. The last session to be included in the competition will be on Thursday 27th August.

Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning bridge: will resume following their summer break. Wednesday supported play will start on the 7th September at 1.30pm and Friday morning bridge will start on the 11th September at 10am.

Bridge Courses & Supported Play: Simon, with the help of Sonia, Jon, Stephen and Sooz, has developed a pathway for those new to Bridge starting with a Begin Bridge Course and leading to actual play in Club sessions.

We now have: Begin Bridge Courses, Continuing Bridge Courses and Supported Play on Wednesday afternoons

Beginning Bridge 10 Week Course:   The next Begin Bridge Course will start on Wednesday the 30th September 2026 at 2.00pm and will run until 2nd December 2026. There will be a Free Taster Session the week before on the 23rd  September also starting at 2.00pm. For more information or to book the course or the free “taster” session please email: teaching@cardiffbridgeclub.org.

Continuing Bridge 10 Week Course: The course, held on Wednesday mornings in the club, is taking a break and further details will follow when it restarts. 

Daytime Bridge: If you are looking for a friendly game and a cup of coffee in the daytime then we hold four session

the dancefloor.s each week. Come and join us in the club on Monday afternoons at 1.30pm for Social Bridge (with home made cakes!), Supported Play at 1.30pm on Wednesdays, also Thursday afternoons at 2pm and Friday mornings at 10am both of these sessions being suitable for players of all standards.

Wednesday Afternoon Supported Play

Supported Play: Would you like to improve your bridge with friendly group of like-minded players? If so you can join our Supported Play Sessions at 1.30pm every Wednesday , cost £5 per person. If you are planning to join us, you can now book ticket in advance online via the club’website or pay on the day.

Supported Play sessions of between 16 and 20 boards give you the opportunity to play bridge in a friendly environment where you can ask for help when you are not sure about bidding a particular hand. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes early so we can set-up movement and get play started promptly.

 

Pro-Am Teams Bridge

The Pro-Am Teams are back! The Pro-Am Teams sessions will be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Come along as a pair and you will be matched with appropriate partners.

Scoring System

SCORING SYSTEM

We are using iBEscore, a phone/tablet based scoring app.

To download the app go to Applestore, Googleplay or your Appstore and search for iBEscore.

The interface is clear, colourful and very user friendly. Please download and explore the app.

The HELP section of the app contains details for players on how to enter scores. You can use a smart phone if you wish but most people use the tablets that we provide.
