We currently have 16 players who are starting the EBED fast track teaching program led by our recently qualified EBED teacher Sooz Nesom(a student at Cardiff University). There is room for more students.
This initiative has been funded jointly by the WBU, the EWBA  and Cardiff bridge club to bring more young people into the world of bridge playing (the best card game in the world)

More information available at teaching@cardiffbridgeclub.org

Wednesday Afternoon Supported Play

Would you like to improve your bridge with friendly group of like-minded players? If so you can join our Supported Play Sessions between 1.30pm and 4.00pm every Wednesday , cost £5 per person. If you are planning to join us, you can now book ticket in advance on "Spade Tickets" via the club’website or pay on the day.

Supported Play sessions of between 16 and 20 boards give you the opportunity to play bridge in a friendly environment where you can ask for help when you are not sure about bidding a particular hand. Please try to arrive around 10 minutes early so we can set-up movement and get play started promptly at 2pm.

Wednesday Evening Seminars

We are delighted to announce that Gwynn Davis gives a short seminar before the start of each Face to Face bridge session on Wednesday evenings.

These are 15 minute seminars starting at 6.45pm, with bridge to commence no later than 7.05pm. There is no charge other than the usual table money for the bridge session and it is perfectly OK for anyone who, for whatever reason, does not attend the seminar to arrive to play when it is finished.

The seminars are aimed at anyone seeking to improve their game and focus on bidding judgement and card play (whether as declarer or in defence). Gwynn uses one hand to explore key principles in these two areas. It might be a hand that has been played at the club, or it could be from elsewhere. There isn't much on bidding 'conventions' or artificial methods generally, although he is happy to talk about these if asked.

These seminars are entertaining and most informative so why not join us on Wednesday evenings and at the Seminars.

Winter League

We are running the usual Winter League this year on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm in the club.

This is comprised of head to head matches for teams of 4-6 players and started on the 14th September

For more information you can contact Liz Atkinson  on liz_atkinson@btinternet.com.

The Round 6 results can be seen by clicking 2023-2024 Winter League Round 6..pdf
