Mike Scoltock RIP
We are very sad to report that Mike Scoltock has passed away on 21 March after a long illness.
Mike, who worked full time as a partner at Moore Kingston Smith, was also successful in one of his hobbies: bridge. He achieved the EBU rank of 4* Grand Master, but more particularly as a Young Chelsea member he played regularly for team Brock in Division One of the Super League. He also won the Young Chelsea Knockout more than once, most recently for team Brock in the 2023 season. Although he didn’t take part in the final, the team qualified to represent London in the county’s prestigious invitational teams event for the Lederer trophy. Mike played in that in February and helped London to a very creditable third place, the county’s best performance for many years. A bridge column, originally published in the Daily Telegraph, written by Tom Townsend features a deal from the Lederer where Mike and his partner did particularly well in defence. And Mike continued to enjoy online bridge right up to his passing.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mike’s family and friends.
