MINUTES OF THE AGM - 11TH MARCH 2026

The Chairman opened the meeting at 1.15pm, welcomed everyone and thaked tham for thier support over the past year.

Attendance: 29 members

Minutes of 2025 AGM -read with no matters arising. Proposed Kate Mullaney, Seconded John Wolfe

Chairmans report: Unfortunately during the year Tony Tribe resigned from the committee which was a great pity as he had done a lot for the club and helped in many ways. We co-opted Gary Manley and Anita Cullen for the remainder of the year. Gary has agreed to stay on the committee. We have asked Graham Stone to stand on the committee to which he has agreed. He is learning the scoring and later in the year do a directors course. Gary has been a hugh help turning up early to help with tables and chairs and also mending broken tables!

I would like to thank Joan and Christine who took over the Christmas party at very short notice. Also thank you Paul Janes and Paul Williams and despite some hiccups with the computer always produced the results next morning at the latest. Thank you to Paul Williams for auditing the accounts and Paul Janes for doing the website. Also thanks to Sandra, Liz and Joan for directing. Denise and Vicky for keeping the tea facility going.

We always need more help setting up and clearing up. More people less work particularly at the end of a session.

Last year was a good year. It was the first year with both clubs playing and the numbers remain the same.

Lastly we must remember we are a friendly club and be tolerant of each other.

Treasurers report: Christine said the accounts were self explanatory. The club had agreed to transfer some money into a savings account which was earning a small amount of interest. There were no questions. Proposed Muriel Parr, seconded Anita Cullen.

AOB: Graham Stone proposed we set up a Whatsapp group for finding partners. The majority of members agreed so he will proceed with this.

Anita Cullen thanked the committee for all thier work!

The meeting ended at 1.30pm
