WBU GRADED MASTERS 2019 |
Sunday 8th December 2019
WWBA would like to apologise for the technical problems which bedevilled this event at Tumble, and thank Tony Haworth who spent a considerable amount of time retrieving data from the Bridgemates in order to deliver a result for our area, albeit that the data from the morning session could not be recovered. There is not a separate results list for our area, but the combined results across the country for Sections 2, 3 & 4 can be found on the WBU results site, powered by Bridgewebs. In that context, congratulations to John Gardener and Phil Roberts, who were the highest ranked pair in Tumble, and who were third nationally in the combined sections, and second overall in section 3. Ian Gove and Bob Alderdice were third in section 2, but the outstanding achievement of the day was that of Tony Disley, playing with Adrian Thomas, who won a very strong section 1 at the Gwent Bridge Academy.
A major plus for those used to the vicisitudes of Tumble in mid-winter was that the new heating system is now fully functioning, so the environment is now a comfortable one in which to play Bridge.
