Procedure to play in a virtual duplicate pairs event

Who is running these events?

Tuesday evenings: this is a joint venture between Warrington Bridge Club and Antrobus Bridge Club. The results are posted on both clubs' websites. 

Friday evenings: Back at the beginning of the Covid lockdown in 2020, Warrington Bridge Club joined forces with two other clubs, Brierfield and Stretford, to set up a Virtual Bridge Club, called BWS Bridge Club, to organise virtual bridge events for all our members. After the resumption of Face-to-Face bridge, we found that there was still a significant demand for on-line bridge, so we decided to carry on with BWS indefinitely, in parallel with F2F bridge. Since then, Brierfield have opted out, but BWS continues as Bridge Warrington & Stretford, and many Brierfield players have continued to play with BWS, by joining either Warrington or Stretford as an on-line member. 

Calendar of events: The calendar of upcoming events can be found on the Warrington Bridge Club website. There is a session on RealBridge on Tuesday eveings at 7pm, and Friday evenings at 715pm.  You can always find the link to log on to a session on the website Homepage. 

You will need to have a partner arranged. If you don't have one, you can always use our WhatsApp group "Online Bridge" to request a partner. If you want to join the WhatsApp group, message Jim Steele on 07478 312456, and your name will be added.

How much will it cost me? The “table money”, or charge per event per person, is £1.00 on Tuesdays and £3.00 on Fridays.  These fees apply to all players who are members of one of the constituent clubs: Warrington, Antrobus, or Stretford. For Warrington members, table money is collected retrospectively via our usual cashless system, in the same way as we collect fees for F2F bridge. Members may also invite guests to play in on-line sessions, and the charge will be the same as the member fee per guest per event, but the member will be charged for their own participation and for their guests. 

Visitors, ie players who are not members of any of the constituent clubs, or their guests, will be charged £5 per person per event, and this will be payable at the time. 

Results: The results for each event are posted on the Warrington Bridge Club  website, complete with the deals, in the same way that you are used to seeing results of normal F2F duplicate pairs.
