Christmas is a time for both reflection and renewed optimism for the future. Each year that passes has its own character - and challenges!
Looking back over the past year, for me, it has been highlighted by a wonderful ‘party’ atmosphere of the bridge events to mark our 50th anniversary celebrations, combined with another year of record attendances.
On behalf of the management committee, let me thank you all for your support. We wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year.
Stuart is back from Turkey, and will be recommencing his seminars on Thursday 28th November from 11.30-1.00.p.m. The cost remains at £5 which will be donated to charity. Enjoy yourselves.
No bridge on 12 December 2019 as the Village Hall is being used for the General Election.
Wallingford Bridge Club wish to pass on their thanks to Abingdon Bridge Club for hosting the Len Salmon Trophy match on Sunday 17th November. We were made very welcome and served with an excellent half time tea with homemade cakes.
Congratulations to Wallingford players who won comfortably in all three sections. The photos include Adrian Lambe (club captain) receiving the Len Salmon Trophy from Gordon Carroll (Abingdon captain).
Each club has now won the trophy twelve times and we look forward to welcoming Abingdon to Wallingford in 2020.

The rules for our Teams Competition have been changed, to clarify murky areas and enable automated scoring.
Changes include the need for a team of four to register on or before the 1st competition date in 2020. Forms will be available in December, completed forms to be handed to Cliff Hones. Any team is welcome to attend, but to compete, there must be at least three members of the registered team playing.
Scoring will be total IMPS scored, each team’s best 6 scores will be averaged over the year.
Please see Competition rules on our website for full details or click here.
These are available in the members' area of the website. Select and click Members Only Area from the left hand column menu, log in then select Members Only Notices again from the left hand column menu.
