Happy playing til we can all meet again!

Please contact her if you are looking for a partner on Monday nights
Your committee have met with members of the Old Hall Bridge Club committee to discuss the best way to restart playing "face to face" bridge in Cowbridge.
The two committees feel that the best way forward would be to merge under the name of The Vale of Glamorgan Bridge Club( we cannot use the simple title of Cowbridge Bridge Club as this is already being used by the club in Llanblethian)
Following a COVID risk assessment(See details below) we have agreed the following:-
1) Club meetings will remain at the Cowbridge Rugby club premises but the time will change to afternoon sessions 1.30- 4.30pm
2) An initial "taster" session to trial the new format will be held on Monday 20th September starting at 1.30pm.This initial session will be free but tables limited to 12 on a "first come first served" basis.Wine will be served at this initial meeting and there will be an opportunity to discuss the arrangements for future sessions.
We shall welcome all fully vaccinated players.
On entering the building please wear a face covering and use the hand sanitizer.
The club will endeavour to provide a safe area for coats which will preferablybe separate from our playing space.
We will provide hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes and would appreciate the wearing of face coverings when "on the move".
The club will limit the number of tables to 12 and it will always be a Mitchell movement.
North will be the only player to touch the Bridgemates and boards and will be responsible for their cleaning.
Members shall carry their own bidding boxes and are requested to take responsibility for their and their fellow players health and wellbeing.
Unfortunately we will not be in a position to provide tea/coffee/biscuits.
If you are aware of any members who do not have access to our club website please could you pass this information on.
If any of our members would like to join in the Thursday nightsMidGlam Online club sessions they would be very welcome.
To join the group you need to email your StepBridge username toDave Lea at MidGlamOnline@outlook.com so that they will be able to see the event on the events list.
The Vale of Glamorgan has been described as "One of those places that tends to draw you in without you even noticing". The same can be said about Bridge, so when you combine the two, as we have done in our club, you very quickly become a regular part of the community.
The Club became the third in the Cowbridge area when it was formed in 1987 to take up the demand for bridge arising from the beginners and improvers Bridge classes held in the Old Hall Centre. The classes, and the demand, still exist today and we now have five Clubs in the town area, so that one can play each day of the week. Such is the popularity of the game.
Our annual programme of events retains it's mixture of social and serious bridge by combining weekly duplicate sessions interspersed with, simultaneous pairs competitions organised by the BGB and various Charity organisations.
Some of our members also belong to other clubs in the area so we are able to enjoy the friendly rivalry of inter -club competitions!
Please note that while all are welcome to join us we do not have a "hosting" arrangement so you will need to arrange your own partner.
Congratulations to Barbara Easterbrook and Margaret Price winners of the 2019 Claret Jug Competition!
We are sad to announce the death of Bill who died in hospital yesterday (13th Septemer) after a long illness.
Bill was a long standing member of our club and will be sadly missed.
Congratulations to our 2019 Club champions Tony Ratclffe & Julian Pottage!
