There were joint winners today - Bill & his partner, and Jean & Jackie, both on 56.48%.  Nice to see that no one scored above 60%, nor below 40% - always better if the field is fairly tightly packed and no one runs away with it.    Next session: 30 July

17 July 2026 - Oake SPG

Today, Terry & Patricia triumphed N/S with a massive 75.83%.  E/W, it was closer, Jonathan & Peter getting home ahead of Bridget & Allan.  Board 11 was the fixed one, intended to be played in 4H by East, going down on the best opening lead and correct defence thereafter, as explained in my Commentary.  A Spade lead should have led to 4H being made, but it didn't always.   At one table, It was West who ended up in 4H (having opened in a 4-card major in preference to a 5-card minor - not ideal in my view) and then it was inevitable that the best opening lead would not be found.     Next session: 31 July.
