TheMeeting was opened by the Chairman at 5.30 p.m.
Inattendance: David Hunt - Chairman, Gina Hunt - Treasurer, Jim Sherman - Secretary,Peter Francis Competition - Secretary, Pat Lee - Membership Secretary & Susan Poole - Community CentreRepresentative.
1. Chairman’sOpening Remarks.
Thetrial period of the new Club Website had been favourably received by themembership and the first annual subscription had now been paid to BridgeWebs.
Davidexpressed his thanks to the organisers of the Summer Party which had been agreat success.
He hadasked the membership to try to improve the accuracy of the entries made on theTravellers; however he thought his attempt was probably in vain as he had gotplenty of abuse for his efforts.
Heasked that Directors be supported when they have to decide at what tableplayers should sit and also the direction of the sit out when there is a halftable.
2. Minutesof the last Committee Meeting held 19th March 2012.
Theminutes were accepted unanimously.
3.Matters Arising.
TheChairman said he had spoken to the members concerned in the matters reported atthe last meeting.
4.Treasurer’s Report.
Ginasaid that with our membership holding steady for the second half of this yearshe had estimated our costs and possible income until the end of November.
Shewas pleased to report that our accounts should show a credit balance of around£1,600.
Rentand P2P charges are the only major costs, we have adequate stationery in stockuntil the end of the year so we should start the 2013 season in a healthyfinancial position.
Thedeposit account stands at £3,576.10 and the current account at £169.07.
5.Membership Secretary’s Report.
Patreported that for the first half year we had 80 members and so far we havecollected second half year subscriptions from 73 of these.
Wehave 2 new members, Molly Winkless and Luis Barbero, so at the moment we have75 paid up members.
Thereare a further 4 first half members that we hope will rejoin.
6.Secretary’s Report.
TheEBU will be introducing Blue Points from 1st January 2013.
BluePoint awards will use the current Local Point scales (100 Local = 1 Blue).
AllMaster Point ranks will allow up to 50 Green Points to be replaced by BluePoints in the ratio of 1 Green = 3 Blues.
7. CompetitionSecretary’s Report.
OurMonday sessions have been running at 11–12 tables with our Wednesday sessionsat
9–10tables.
Titchfieldwill play in the Basingstoke Cup once again this year.
Directingat the Club continues to go well, Maureen Smith now directs.
8.Community Centre Representative’s Report.
Susanreported on the activities of the Community Centre Committee.
9. AnyOther Business.
Jim and David stated thatthey would not to standing for re-election to the Committee at the AGM.
A general discussion tookplace on how they might be replaced. An informal sounding out of likely individualswho might be willing to serve on the Committee will take place over the summermonths.
