Congratulations
Grand Master!

I’m delighted to report that longstanding SBC member Krys Kazmierczak has become a Grand Master.  This is a fantastic lifetime achievement and a reflection on many excellent results in the last twenty or more years, playing mainly with Sandra.

Congratulations Krys!

Summer Ladder results

The Summer Ladder has just finished and it's very well done to Steph & Steven for coming joint first!  Erica was third and Christopher fourth.  Congratulations to all.

To see the full results click on 'Competitions' on the left-hand side of the Club website's homepage.

To qualify for the ladder you have to be a Club Member and to have played at least ten times during the season (March to August).

For those interested in the detail, please note that the format this time is different from previous occasions, because of the cross-imp scoring we were using for the sessions where there was a low attendance (before we joined forces with Dorchester).  This ladder uses ‘positional’ scoring. The lowest pair in a session score 2 and each position above scores 2 more.  So you score more, say, for coming first in a big field than a small one.   Once you have played in more than 10 events only your best 10 are included.

Oxfordshire Congress success

Many congratulations to Sandra & Krys, who came 3rd= out of 64 pairs in the Swiss Pairs at the Oxfordshire Congress on 17th August!  A splendid result in an event with a high standard.

Midsummer Pairs 24th June

The winners were Erica & Christopher Sheppard, with Moira Pavelin & Trevor Dawn close behind in 2nd position, and Steph & Steven Bliss third.  Well done all!

County Pairs success

The Oxfordshire County Pairs Final was held on 17th March, and Summertown members did well.  Sandra & Krys came second, and Mary-Ann (and partner Christopher Whitehouse) were third.  They have qualified for the national Corwen competition in Staffordshire in June.  Congratulations all!
