Holly Kilpatrick’s amazing work in youth bridge has been recognised by the EBU.  They have decided to present her with the Tom Bradley Award for services to education.

The award is made to the (non-school) teacher who has made the most effective contribution to promoting youth bridge.

This is tremendous news!  We all know how much Holly puts into youth bridge, and it’s great to see her efforts recognised.

The Summer Ladder finished at the end of August, and it's very well done to Sandra who has won the ladder: the average of her ten best scores was an impressive 63.59%.  Krys is very close behind in second position with 63.34%.  Howard & Isabel are joint third with 61.29%.  Congratulations all of you!

To qualify for the ladder you have to be a Club Member and to have played at least ten times during the season (March to August).

There was a good turnout of 9.5 tables for the Midsummer Pairs on 1st July.  Many congratulations to Steph & Steven, who won the event with 63.13% and will receive the Bygott Trophy.   Sue Smith and John Cecil were second, and Peter Finbow with non-member Ian Kessack third.

Former Chairman David Bygott has kindly donated prizes for the first five pairs and these will be distributed to those people as soon as possible.

It was lovely to actually see a lot of the faces we have been missing over the past sixteen months or so, and particularly good to see our Monday online director, Mike Dobson and wife Jeanne, playing.

Many thanks to Cliff for sacrificing an evening to direct for us. 

Many congratulations to Linda Allen and Dave Dobson, who won the OBA County Pairs Final on Sunday 18th April with an excellent score of 61.94%, amidst tough competition.  Well done!

Mary-Ann Sheehy, playing with non-SBC member Christopher Whitehouse, came third.

The Winter Ladder has just finished and it's very well done to Irene & Mike who have jointly won the ladder: the average of their ten best scores was 60.78%.  Sandra & Krys were joint third with 59.2%.  Howard & Isabel were close behind with 59.04%.

I’m delighted to report that longstanding SBC member and committee member Sandra Nicholson has become a Grand Master.  This is a fantastic lifetime achievement and a reflection on her many excellent results, for a good many years playing with Krys.
