Summertown Bridge Club plays duplicate bridge every Monday in the Maison Française, Norham Road, OX2 6SE. We pride ourselves on our reputation for friendliness, and welcome visitors and prospective new members, including those with relatively little experience of playing duplicate bridge. You can come along either with or without a partner, as our host system means you'll always get a game. We are EBU affiliated, use computer-dealt boards and wireless scoring, and award master points.

There is parking in Maison Française’s own car park and both metered and free parking on the nearby streets.

The club opens at about 7 pm, and players should arrive by 7.15 and be seated by 7.20 for start of play at 7.30.

Bridge Education in Oxford

Oxford Bridge Club runs a comprehensive bridge education programme under the banner of Oxford Bridge School. Courses are available at all levels, from beginners to more experienced players. Further details are on their website.

EBU Sims Prize Draw

The EBU has recently published a list of winners in its Prize Draw.

Every affiliated club which hosted an EBU Sims was entered into a draw,  and Summertown BC won a runners up prize of £100!  Good luck rather than anything else, admittedly.

For details see:

You will see that the winning pairs in each heat were also entered into a draw, in which Sandra & Krys came third!

Enormous thanks to everybody for their contributions, financial & otherwise.  We raised £1099, with £320 of that coming from the sale of Christina's honey over the last several weeks.  Thank you, Christina!
Particular mention should also be made to Maison Francaise for their generosity in waiving the rent for this charity evening.

Supporting Junior Bridge Internationals
Many, many thanks for supporting the four England junior teams, who are off to China to represent this country in the summer.  The total raised over two club evenings at SBC was £446.25.  This includes the two donations made directly to the EBU by members, who gift aided their donations and are happy for the sums to be included in our total.  Click here to see a letter of thanks from the EBU.
Junior Bridge

Here is a link to an article on the EBU website describing the success of the Junior Bridge Club run by Holly.  Congratulations to Holly on her success with this endeavour.

Vita Granelli

We have just heard the sad news that Vita Granelli died last weekend.  She used to play regularly at Summertown, almost always with her friend Jill Brandini.

We will miss Vita and send sincere condolences to her family, and of course to Jill. - 3 Feb 2018
