| EBU Sims Prize Draw |
The EBU has recently published a list of winners in its Prize Draw.
Every affiliated club which hosted an EBU Sims was entered into a draw, and Summertown BC won a runners up prize of £100! Good luck rather than anything else, admittedly.

You will see that the winning pairs in each heat were also entered into a draw, in which Sandra & Krys came third!

| Children in Need |
 Congratulations to James & Valerie who were way ahead of the field in our club heat on 12th November, winning on 67.08%! Sandra & Krys were second, and Alison & Robert third.
Enormous thanks to everybody for their contributions, financial & otherwise. We raised £1099, with £320 of that coming from the sale of Christina's honey over the last several weeks. Thank you, Christina!
Particular mention should also be made to Maison Francaise for their generosity in waiving the rent for this charity evening.

| Supporting Junior Bridge Internationals |
Many, many thanks for supporting the four England junior teams, who are off to China to represent this country in the summer. The total raised over two club evenings at SBC was £446.25. This includes the two donations made directly to the EBU by members, who gift aided their donations and are happy for the sums to be included in our total. | Vita Granelli |
We have just heard the sad news that Vita Granelli died last weekend. She used to play regularly at Summertown, almost always with her friend Jill Brandini.
We will miss Vita and send sincere condolences to her family, and of course to Jill. - 3 Feb 2018
