Oxford Bridge Club runs a comprehensive bridge education programme under the banner of Oxford Bridge School. Courses are available at all levels, from beginners to more experienced players. Further details are on their website.
This is a teams-of-eight competition for Oxfordshire clubs. We have two teams: our "A" team is in Division 2 and our "B" team in Division 4. Speak to Howard Arnes (A-Team) or Roger Heath-Brown (B-team) if you would like to play for Summertown. For fixtures, results and match reports click on the link on the lefthand side of this page.
At the AGM we decided not to support the usual Children In Need sim pairs in November, but instead to support a local charity in the summer Sim Pairs. Our chosen charity this year is FLEXICARE (more information available at http://www.flexicare.org/ ). As this is a Sims event, the cost will be £6.50 for members and £8 for visitors. Maison Francaise is supporting us by waiving the room rent and all the table money for the evening will go to Flexicare.
In addition, we will be running a raffle at the beginning of the evening (with customary efficiency!) so that there will be only a short delay before bridge begins. We invite all members to support the raffle by buying tickets and contributing a prize. Some of you will be on holiday on the day itself but raffle tickets will be on sale from Monday 1 July and prizes can be handed over in advance.
