Summertown Bridge Club plays duplicate bridge every Monday in the Maison Française, Norham Road, OX2 6SE. We pride ourselves on our reputation for friendliness, and welcome visitors and prospective new members, including those with relatively little experience of playing duplicate bridge. You can come along either with or without a partner, as our host system means you'll always get a game. We are EBU affiliated, use computer-dealt boards and wireless scoring, and award master points.

There is parking in Maison Française’s own car park and both metered and free parking on the nearby streets.

The club opens at about 7 pm, and players should arrive by 7.15 and be seated by 7.20 for start of play at 7.30.

Wessex League 2019-20

This is a teams-of-eight competition for Oxfordshire clubs. We have two teams: our "A" team is in Division 2 and our "B" team in Division 3.  For fixtures, results and match reports click on the link on the lefthand side of this page.  We are also participating in a daytime league.

News 2017
25 years old!
25 years old!

We had a very enjoyable Christmas/25th Anniversary Bridge Party on 18th December, thanks largely to Holly, Steph and Steven who organised the catering.  Many thanks to all those who helped in other ways.

Many congratulations to the winners of the 25th Anniversary Cup: Moira & Cliff Pavelin (pictured) and to the winners of the 25th Anniversary Handicap Cup: Tony & Loris Lewis.

During the evening we raised £265 in donations to Homeless Oxfordshire (formerly Oxford Homeless Pathways).

John Spencer

Sadly one of SBC's long-standing members, John Spencer, died over the August Bank Holiday weekend after a protracted illness. Our thoughts are with his wife, Angela, and family.  He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed.

Fame for local Junior Bridge

The success of Oxfordshire's Junior Bridge teaching has reached the ears of Andrew Robson.  On 17th April it was mentioned in his bridge column in The Times!  To see the article click here.
