Summertown Bridge Club plays duplicate bridge every Monday in the Maison Française, Norham Road, OX2 6SE. We pride ourselves on our reputation for friendliness, and welcome visitors and prospective new members, including those with relatively little experience of playing duplicate bridge. You can come along either with or without a partner, as our host system means you'll always get a game. We are EBU affiliated, use computer-dealt boards and wireless scoring, and award master points.

There is parking in Maison Française’s own car park and both metered and free parking on the nearby streets.

The club opens at about 7 pm, and players should arrive by 7.15 and be seated by 7.20 for start of play at 7.30.

Bridge Education in Oxford

Oxford Bridge Club runs a comprehensive bridge education programme under the banner of Oxford Bridge School. Courses are available at all levels, from beginners to more experienced players. Further details are on their website.

Wessex League 2019-20

This is a teams-of-eight competition for Oxfordshire clubs. We have two teams: our "A" team is in Division 2 and our "B" team in Division 3.  For fixtures, results and match reports click on the link on the lefthand side of this page.  We are also participating in a daytime league.

News 2012
Children in Need Sim Pairs 2012
Children in Need Sim Pairs 2012

Well done to Summertown Bridge Club for raising a fantastic £1116 towards Children in Need at our Sim Pairs event on Monday 12 November!! Special thanks go to Sara Alden and her team of helpers who helped to make this event such a success. Thanks are also due to Maison Française and the EBU who waived their usual fees for the evening. Donations and pledges made to Children in Need are listed on the ECats website here

From the bridge point of view, it is hearty congratulations to Ian and Trevor on a very fine win in the club with 66.54%. Jean and Maggie came second with an excellent 64.69% and Paul and Roger were third on 61.93%. Nationally Ian and Trevor are currently lying 23rd, but this will probably change as more results come in.
Our Fabulous Three
Our Fabulous Three
Rosemary, Robert and Holly - our terrific triumvirate responsible for planning and organising the SBC 20th Anniversary Party.
Many thanks to them and all the others who helped make the event such a success.
David's Exhibition
David's Exhibition
Many thanks to former SBC Chairman David Bygott for painstakingly putting together an interesting exhibition with mementoes from the Club's history. It will be put on display on the next few club nights for all members to enjoy.
Colin and John
Colin and John
Special thanks to Colin and John, long-suffering non-bridge playing partners of Holly and Bridget, who so willingly helped on the night, so that the rest of us could relax and enjoy ourselves during the evening.

Another special vote of thanks to Bridget for putting together the quiz. Here is a crowd poring over Bridget's Bridges.

Oxfordshire Bridge Association Simultaneous Pairs

The Summertown heat of the Oxfordshire Bridge Association Simultaneous Pairs was held on Monday 30 April. Overall county rankings are now available on the OBA website, with all the club results now uploaded. Congratulations to Erica & Christopher who came 1st in our own heat, and 4th overall with a very respectable score of 64%.

NICKO competition

Unfortunately the Summertown B team lost its 3rd round NICKO match against a Berks & Bucks team captained by Carol Mueller by 15 imps, in a match played on Friday 3 February. Summertown has another team still in the competition, so we wish them luck in their next match.
