🌸 SPRING PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP — WEEK 1 🌸

What a great start to our two-week Spring Pairs Championship!

We had 22 pairs battling it out today — and judging by some of the scores, nobody told the cards that Spring was supposed to be a gentle season! 😄

🏆 The Young Guns are out in front!

1st — Zhan & Cheng — 62.22%
2nd — Terry & Jay — 59.81%
3rd — Cathryn & Venie — 59.44%
4th — Judith & Keith — 58.52%
5th — Arthur & Stephen — 55.93%
6th — Vivienne & Peter Shea — 53.33%

A great result for Zhan & Cheng, who have made an early move at the top of the leaderboard. But with another week to play, the championship is definitely not over! There are plenty of opportunities for the leaderboard to be shuffled — and perhaps a few surprises along the way.

It was also fantastic to see Cathryn & Venie and Judith & Keith mixing it with the leaders. Clearly, enthusiasm still has plenty to say at the bridge table!

A big thank you to Shelley for directing today’s session, and to Terry for taking over the director’s chair on Monday while our regular director, Peter Bardos, is away.

Both Shelley and Terry did a terrific job keeping everything running smoothly — no dramas, no panic, and most importantly, the bridge went on! 👏
