Mornings / Afternoons

On all holidays, the main sessions will be every evening.. However, casual session will be as follows:.

In October January and March, there will be casual sessions in the morning only. Afternoon arrangements will be informal.

In November and February, there will be alternating mornings and afternoons i.e. Mon am, Tues pm, Wed am, Thurs pm.

Always nine sessions of organised bridge as a minimum, for your enjoyment.

IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN

♠ Fred Davis, with helpers, directs bridge holidays in the comfortable air-conditioned room for guests at the St Ives Hotel in Lytham St Annes. On each of the six-day / five-night holidays, there are nine or more duplicate bridge sessions in total, (no seminars), all of which are optional to attend.

Singles are welcomed, we try to ensure there is a host available so everyone can play. Sessions are run under EBU rules with:

♣ Free tea, coffee and soft drinks while sessions are in play.

♦ Computer-dealt boards

♥ Electronic scoring with immediate results, uploaded to the St Ives Hotel Bridgewebs page

♠ Sessions: EBU master points and NGS on evening sessions - and some prizes, including bottles of wine!:

Sunday Meet and Greet 4 pm for 4:30 pm, Welcome Duplicate Pairs 7 pm.
Monday Duplicate 7 pm.
Tuesday Duplicate 7 pm.
Wednesday Duplicate 7 pm.
Thursday Duplicate 7 pm.. Prize giving 10 pm.
Friday Goodbye breakfast and departure by 10 am.

There will be extra casual sessions on any day, morning or afternoon, depending on demand and weather conditions. Guests can also take time to use the hotel pool, maybe go to the casino and also, in October and November, see the famous Blackpool illuminations. Historically, many go to the nearby Island Cinema on Wednesday afternoon. Also, we have an occasional trivia quiz just to test your knowledge!

There is always time to discuss the day's events together in the adjacent bar afterwards.
