Membership policy

The club's membership policy was reviewed and clarified at the recent board of trustees meeting, as follows:

  • The membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August. This applies to both the club and the SBU.
  • Any new person joining up until 31st May will be expected to register and pay the relevant club and SBU fee.
  • Anyone new person joining between 1st June and 31st August is encouraged to join both the club and the SBU and will become eligible for both subscriptions from 1st September of that year. In this circumstance, they will receive their SBU number and become eligible for points.
  • Alternatively, a new person joining between 1st June and 31st August may attend as a visitor, paying table money, but will not have an SBU number and therefore they will not be eligible for any SBU points until they join formally.
  • During the membership year, visitors would be allowed to attend up to three times, then would be expected to join and pay the fee.
