| President Gretta Scully 2026-27 |
 |
Welcome everyone to the 2026/2027 Bridge season.
This is a significant year, as we look forward to the proposed amalgamation progressing on 1 January 2027.
I would like to thank the leadership teams who guided this important opportunity to develop and strengthen Bridge across the island, and each club in the region for its endorsement and approval, without which this progress would not have been possible.
The most significant change for clubs will be the development of the database. Once in place, individual players will access their master points and grades through the database rather than through membership cards.
As with any IT development, patience will be needed while the system is introduced and becomes fully operational.
As you may know, I have chosen “Celebrating Club Committees: Supporting Clubs to Thrive” as my focus for this year.
A series of sharing and learning days for club committee members is being organised for September and October.
These will take place at Cork Bridge Club, Fermoy Bridge Club, Curraghcrowley Bridge Club, and a venue in Kerry.
I look forward to meeting you during the year at regional competitions and congresses.
