Chairman’s Report – AGM 11^th May 2026

I always look back on previous reports, to get some inspiration on what to write. This made me realise that I have been Chairman since 2013. During that time, there has been lots of changes on the committee apart from Richard Clark who had been there for many years before 2013. Steve took over from him, as Treasurer, three years ago and thankfully he has agreed to do another two years. Lesley took over as Secretary two years ago and is also happy to stay for another two. I must also thank the other committee members, who all do their bit to make the running of the club go smoothly. They are Chris, David and Richard Plummer. Is there anyone who would like to join us. Please let us know at item 5 on the Agenda.

I must also thank the directors. We have five directors, David, Richard, Steve, Fiona and myself. So, once every five weeks, we take our turn. I now realise that as we are affiliated to the EBU, we qualify for a free directors course every two years. We have never made use of this. So, if there is anyone who is interested in going on the directors’ course, please let me know.

Thanks also go to Jean and Kathy for sorting the refreshments every week. Thanks also to Viv, who helps put out the boards every week, which is a great help. My final thanks, is to all the members for supporting our club and making it a great success.

As there is a lot to get through in 30 minutes, I will now move on to item 4. Hopefully you have all studied the accounts and Steve’s report, so I will now pass you over to Steve as Treasurer.
