Welcome to Roding Valley U3A Bridge group |
The club runs on Monday afternoons at Theydon Bois Village Hall and we ask that members are seated by 1.15pm for a 1.30 start. Doors open at 1pm and any help, both setting up tables or taking them down after the session, would be appreciated.
New members are welcome and may come as visitors for one session but should be members of Roding Valley U3A for regular attendance. Table money is £2.50 per person.
You are welcome to attend without a partner, but try and come early so that you can meet up with others. We hope to ensure that everyone that arrives can be partnered and get an afternoon's bridge.
- We ask that all attending should be double vaccinated against coronavirus and had their boosters.
- Members are asked not to attend if they have a cold or any symptoms of coronavirus
- Some windows will be opened to ensure adequate ventilation
- Tea, coffee and biscuits are available and there is an option to use disposable cups for those that would prefer this.
Please feel free to contact Ann at a.c.richards@ntlworld.com

Cards, travellers and scoring |
♣ This is just a reminder to count your cards carefully before you start each game and also when you replace your cards in the traveller at the end of your game. We have had a couple of incidences lately where the wrong number of cards have been replaced after a round and this has meant the board has had to be discounted for that entire session.
♣ Although North scores each board on the traveller, please don't forget that the score entered on the traveller should be shown to East (or West) to check after each score is entered. This should ensure that there are no incorrect scores entered and make entering the results at the end of the session easier. East/West should ask to see the score on the traveller if it is not shown to them by North.
♣ Please leave your tricks on the table until all four players agree on the score for that board. Once you have taken up your tricks it is impossible to look back at the play for that hand should there be a disagreement in the scoring.
Thank you everyone for your help in making this a successful and enjoyable afternoon.
Ann
