Charity Bridge Afternoon 2023 |
The club held a charity bridge afternoon on 11th July. We sold 11 tables and everyone had a fun afternoon playing bridge and eating cake.
£700 was raised for Renewed Hope. It was a pleasure to welcome Andrew Tyers from Renewed Hope who started the afternoon off by telling us about the excellent work the charity does in the local community supporting homeless and vulnerable people, it is good to know the money is going to such a worthwhile cause.
Thank you to everyone who supported us from buying tables and raffle tickets to baking cakes, dipping strawberries in chocolate and donating raffle prizes.

Table Money Change |
As from 1st June we will be increasing our table money to £3 per week as, unfortunately, our current charge does not cover the cost of hiring the hall, even with some income from our BBO sessions.
We believe this brings us into line with other local bridge clubs, and hope you all understand why we have taken this step.
We will be continuing to collect the money in the usual way (via bank transfer), but as from June £3 per F2F session will be deducted from your attendance module. This can be viewed under the Payments A/C tab in your members only area.

Covid Information |
As the Covid rules have been relaxed by the Colman Redland Centre we are reminding members that hand sanitising stations are still available in the entrance. We will still supply hand sanitiser wipes and sprays.
Moving around with Bidding Boxes is no longer necessary but if you are not happy with this then you are quite welcome to keep your own bidding box for the afternoon.
The wearing of masks in communal areas is no longer required, although you may choose to do so at your own discretion.
We will continue to monitor the Covid situation and be guided by the Government.
If you have any questions please ask.

Charity Donation 2021 |
With Covid-19 lockdowns we were unable to hold our usual charity event. Nevertheless our members were still very keen that we make a donation to a local charity.
A vote among our members chose St Catherine's Hospice as the charity to receive this year's donation. A cheque for £250 was sent to St Catherine's Hospice in December 2021.
We are planning on holding a charity event later in 2022. Look out for an announcement!
