StarDust Week

Gold Points Shimmer at Clubs During Stardust Week

Stardust Week, where players can earn 25% gold points and 75% black points, has been a mainstay at ACBL Virtual Clubs for years. But this year, we’re expanding the event to face-to-face clubs, too!

What makes Stardust Week so special is the gold. If you aren’t familiar, to climb the ACBL ranks, you need to earn masterpoints in a variety of pigments. Usually, gold points are only available at regional tournaments and NABCs, but with Stardust Week, you have a chance to earn gold at the club.

For face-to-face clubs, Stardust Week is split: Monday and Tuesday, April 22-23, and Thursday to Sunday, April 25-28. Any/all sanctioned games on those days are eligible to be a Stardust Week game.

Welcome to Quick Tricks

Quick Tricks celebrated its 16th Anniversary in March 2024. The only sanctioned Gay Bridge Club in Florida.  Originally, its founders gathered in homes over dinner and drinks to learn the game of bridge!  As word spread the few men outgrew playing in each other’s homes.  The founders Bruce Upson and Jack De Crescente approached the Fort Lauderdale Bridge Club about renting space to hold their games. A 501 C 3 organization for LGBTQ community was formed.  Word spread about Quick Tricks games and membership grew accepting everyone. Quick Tricks became known as a more relaxed game and perfect avenue for beginners to break into duplicate bridge.

Over the years Quick Tricks, through membership dues and table fees, has grown in membership to 225 as well as financially.  Historically, QT started supporting LGBTQ charities explicitly Tuesday Angels until such time as those with Aids were able to go back to work and no longer required assistance with their non-medical expenditures.  In 2022, QT donated $10,000 to LGBTQ community in Ukraine.   During the Pandemic QT made contributions of $1,000 per month to two local churches that fed the homeless.  In 2024, QT donated $10,000 to RUTH Ministery (who feeds the homeless) and SAGE, an organization that provides Social help to senior LGBTQ+ individuals.

Games Tuesday evenings (Open and Limited (0 - 2000) @ 6:30pm and Saturday afternoons (Limited 0-2000) @ 12:30pm.

$20 for annual membership | $8 for members | $11 for non-members.
