For many Australians, Australia Day marks:
- The founding of the modern nation — it commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet from Britain at Port Jackson, New South Wales, in 1788, and the raising of the British flag by Governor Arthur Phillip.
- National unity and pride — it has evolved into a day to celebrate what it means to be Australian. People take pride in the country’s achievements, values, and multicultural society.
- Community celebrations — the day includes citizenship ceremonies, awards (like the Australian of the Year), and public events such as fireworks, barbecues, and concerts.

Before the AGM ,please ensure that your current membership and Associate Members fees are paid.
Please also volunteer or nominate people for the comittee to assist in running the club and ensuring we all have a good time.

A hearty congratulations to one of our wonderful Hastings Home Hospice volunteers Marita Crighton who has been recognised for her service to community health with an Order of Australia Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours.
Marita has worked with the Hastings Home Hospice team for more than three decades supporting palliative care patients.

We play every Wednesday at the Hastings Bridge Club beginning at 12:30 pm and finishing approximately 4 pm. So please be seated by 12:15.
