Bridge Sessions

Bridge Sessions every afternoon at 1:00pm except Wed and Sun.

Bridge sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday commencing at 12:30 so you MUST both be in attendance by 12:15.

Hastings Bridge Club is located at Hamilton Green, 176 Hastings River Drive, Port Macquarie.

Tel: 6583 3767 (Club) or 0404 98 98 95 (Carolyn).

It is preferable that you pre-register to play though we will always accommodate walk-ins who arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to play commencing.

Things to ponder.....

As I was lying around, pondering the problems of the world, I realized that at my age I don't really give a rat's ass anymore. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, but is still fat. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years, while a tortoise doesn't run and does mostly nothing, yet it lives for 150 years. And you tell me to exercise? I don't think so.

Just grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to remember the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Now that I'm older here's what I've discovered:

1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

2. My wild oats are mostly enjoyed with prunes and all-bran.

3. I finally got my head together, and now my body is falling apart.

4. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

5. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

6. If all is not lost, where the heck is it ?

7. It was a whole lot easier to get older, than to get wiser.

8. Some days, you're the top dog, some days you're the hydrant.

9. I wish the buck really did stop here, I sure could use a few of them.

10. Kids in the back seat cause accidents.

11. Accidents in the back seat cause kids.

12. It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere.

13. The world only beats a path to your door when you're in the bathroom.

14. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he'd have put them on my knees.

15. When I'm finally holding all the right cards, everyone wants to play chess.

16. It's not hard to meet expenses . . .they're everywhere.

17. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

18. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter . . .I go somewhere to get something and then wonder what I'm "here after".

19. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

20. IF I HAVE POSTED THIS MESSAGE BEFORE? ....SORRY..

Australia-wide Novice Pairs results
Australia-wide Novice Pairs results

Once again congratulations to all who participated in the Australia-wide Novice Pairs event. It was a fun afternoon with some spirited play and it's always good to see newer members taking the plunge.
Well done to our highest placed contenders, Colleen & Errol Pillemer in 23rd and Jane Martin & Pauline Wood in 55th position. Given the number of overall entrants throughout the country, these are great results.

Copy and paste this link to read about how the overall results are calculated.

Central Coast Bridge Club

On Saturday and Sunday 25th & 26th July, Central Coast Bridge Club will be hosting a congress for Novice and Restricted pairs and teams. See full details on the MyABF calendar.

Bookings

Unfortunately, we have had a number of "no shows" on different days recently. This makes it extremely difficult for the directors to set up movement for the day. We appreciate that people can wake up feeling unwell or other situations arise, however, it would be very helpful if you would call the director and advise that you won't be attending, as well as removing your names from the booking page. The director for the day is listed on the booking notice. Please be considerate and make their lives a little easier.....

Club Qualifying Events (CQE)

Bridge NSW logo full blue and red with wordmark landscape

Bridge NSW have introduced a new series of State Teams and Pairs events - referred to as CQE's (Club Qualifying Events). These attract DOUBLE RED points for those who qualify. There will be three divisions - Open, Under Grand Master and Under National Master and only people meeting those requirements (see appropriate day) will be able to play on those days. You MUST play with the same partner for at least 2 of 3 events. We continue to welcome all players on other days as usual.

As your club will be charged $2.50pp per session for participation, we have followed their suggestion to raise table money on those days. Committee has agreed on $7 and would ask you to bring the correct money with you.
