10 Questions to complete a basic convention card.

Instructions to complete a simple Convention Card.

1. Do you play 2/1 or SAYC?

2. 1 (minor) responder bids 2 (minor) ---responder has 6-9 HCP and 5 of the minor, or some other system?

3. 1(major) responder bids 3 (major)---Limit raise, or some other system?

4. What do you play for transfer to 1NT---2S transfer to Clubs, 3C transfer to Diamonds and 2NT is invitational with 8-9 HCP, or some other system?

5. Responding to 2C opener—2D promises an A or K and 2H denies an A or K and under 4 HCP or some other system?

6. Weak 2 --5-11 not vul and 9-11 vul most of your points in that suit. A new suit by responder is forcing. 2NT asks for an outside A or K.

7. Ace asking bid (standard Blackwood)-- 4NT responds 5C= zero, 5D= one A, 5H= two A, 5S= three A, or do you play 1430?

8. Carding—Upside down-- partner leads a side suit A you have Q 8 3. To encourage your partner to continue that suit do you play the 3, or Standard Carding do you play the 8?

9. Take out doubles—Any double below 3S is for takeout and “you should not pass” and a double of 3S or above is for penalty and you “should pass”.

   Defense against opponents 1NT—all bids are natural and promise a good suit, or some other system?
